What can we find in and around the city’s waterways? Educator and guide Alan Colley (Anishinaabe, Wolf Clan) will lead a walking tour along the Lake Ontario shoreline and nearby Cooksville Creek. Colley draws on Anishinaabe teachings to discuss the interdependence of humans, plants, animals, fish, and insects in nearshore ecosystems, alongside the sustained presence of Indigenous peoples in the GTA.
This event will be held rain or shine, with covered outdoor facilities available in case of inclement weather. Accessible public washrooms and seating are available. Drinks and refreshments will be provided. Physical distancing will be in place for this event, and additional safety precautions may be required in line with public health measures. The walk is mostly paved, with some unpaved sections.
