We are thrilled to announce the Art and Art History Graduate Exhibitions of 2013, Double Crossing. Divided into two parts, these exhibitions proudly mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of another for the graduates. Each student has learned to engage with the world visually and apply these experiences in their work. Students have studied photography, print media, drawing, painting, design, performance, sound, video, sculpture and installation at Sheridan; while at the University of Toronto students have pursued theory, art history and visual culture. This juxtaposed education has fostered an environment where each student has been encouraged to thrive for excellence. Now at this stage, their Double Crossing, each artist will exhibit one of their pieces before stepping into the world to become informed promoters of visual expression as well as teachers, graduate students or professional artists.

The Art and Art History Program

Students graduating from the Art and Art History program receive both an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto Mississauga and a Diploma in Art and Art History from Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. The program is designed to provide students with a strong and diverse base of knowledge that prepares them for a broad spectrum of careers within the arts community and beyond. Alumni have pursued careers in teaching, both at the secondary and post-secondary level, while others go onto to earn their Masters in Studio Art or Art History.
