In this outdoor walk and art-making activity, participants will walk alongside the Credit River, where we will discuss its histories, the animals and people who share it, and water’s importance at a community and individual level. We will then create a collaborative drawing of the Credit River and its surrounding lands, with each participant completing a section. While doing so, VAM artist-facilitators will prompt participants to consider how our families connect with water; and how waterways, land use, and nature resonate with our lives in Mississauga.
This event will be held rain or shine, with covered outdoor facilities available in case of inclement weather. Physical distancing will be in place for the outdoor portions of the event, and masks are required in all indoor spaces, including washrooms. The walk includes some hilly terrain and narrow trails.
